Eight million tons of plastic enter the ocean every year, and over one million marine animals and birds die from ingesting plastic annually. Almost all of this trash enters from land. We’re doing our part to help prevent this toxic trash from entering our seas by picking it up. Casual cleanups, done in a group or solo, are gaining steam on social media with the hashtag #trashtag, and we want to encourage even more.
Clean up and log it on Instagram with a photo tagging #wateriseverything #trashtag #everythingbutwater and @everythingbutwater to be entered to win one of three prizes.
